Abstract
We figured out the conditions of securing economic and social functions in agricultural community in which inhabitants of farmers are relatively old, depending on aging of labors, ratio of the labor of agriculture to that of non-agriculture, scale of arable land, and locational conditions of the community. From the viewpoint of active usage of arable land, the community consists of farmers specialized in agricultural management and has a large-scale arable land as it takes advantage of the suitability of farm products for its geographical conditions. From the viewpoint of preservation of arable land, the community should be planned with taking the diversity of the organization and the number of farmers into consideration especially in hilly and mountainous area.
