Abstract
In this paper, the author pointed out six major problems of rural development in the syudy area of Northeast China. Those were 1) expansion of economic disparity in farm households, 2) problems on marketing of agricultural commodities, 3) problems on water resources usage, 4) problems on municipality owed enterprises, 5) improvements of village autonomy and living environments, 6) problems on sustainable farmland use. He also discussed the development strategy such as a) reinforcement of village committees, b) establishment of support center for municipality - owned enterprises at county level and c) reform of agricultural extension services for restructuring of farm - household organizations.
