The purpose of this study is to clarity the factors of the “Revitalization of Settlements in a Mountainous Village”with viewpoints of residents' consciousness and behavior. For this purpose, the change and actual conditions of the resident's organizations, settlement activities, resident's initiative were investigated in the research area.
Consequently four elements were extracted as below 1) Tte sense of crisis to the decline of the settlement, and resident's participation in revitalization movement of settlements. 2) The attachment to native places, 3) Intimate communication and cooperative spirit among residents, 4) Existence of younger leaders
