Abstract
In this paper, “ACTIV REGIONS”, the new regional development project in Germany, is focused and the characteristics and backgrounds of the project are analyzed. As a result, the new and unique measures of the project are pointed out as followed:
1) Integrated development of the wide area with the solutions to the complex regional problems, reflecting the influence of “Agenda 21”and the agricultural politic transition from narrow and separated solution to wide and integrated one.
2) Construction of the wide area network system on the private level to give the integrated and sustainable regional development. It helps to unite rural and urban areas. to create a new worth of the rural areas, and so on.
