The actual condition of the allotment garden in 3 prefectures of Tokai was investigated by the questionnaire. The allotment garden was classified into four types (neighborhood type, suburbs type), remoteness type (day trip type and stay type) according to use conditions, and the feature was clarified. Main results were as follows. Neighborhood type is small-scale and suburbs type and remoteness type tend to become large-scale. In neighborhood type and suburbs type, installation of equipment of required for agricultural work is low, and the rate of administrator exists is also scarce. Neighborhood type is established for pleasure for aged and for forming green tract of land, with remoteness type expests the effect to rural-urban exchange or regional economic activation.
