Abstract
This study was performed to clarify measures against population migration from rural districts. The net migration rate in young males in 44 municipalities in Kyoto prefecture was calculated. The following conclusions were reached. (1) We should consider population migration of males aged 15-19 years during a 5-year period, separately from that of males aged 20-24 years during 5-year period. (2) If new employment opportunities are created as a measure against population migration, more marked effects may be obtained in the 3rd industry than in the 2nd industry.
