抄録
The atmosphere of recreation area on the outskirts of Nagoya and its neighboring villages in the 19th century is discussed in this paper. The results are:
1. The recreation area is within 20km on its outskirts.
2. Fine views and flowers, such as cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, wisteri, azalea, lespedeza, chrysanthemum, and tinted autumnal leaves feature of the area.
3. Embankments, generally used farmer's grassland, make most popular recreation spots.
4. Some farmers offer their bloomed gardens with all kind of chrysantemum collection or widely-ranged wisteria trellis, for city people's amusement.
5. Restaurants commanding a good view of rural landscape are located at urban fringes.
