Abstract
This study was conducted in March, 1980, as one of the activities of the Research Project on Television Programing for 2-Year-Olds. Our first study, Report No.l, disclosed that short TV segments "Fruits Counting" in which 3 persons were verbally counting from 1 to 3, attracted the attention of 2-Year-Olds. For the second study, we produced 7 TV segments which were experimentally controlled. They were "Original Fruits Counting" "Toy Counting" "Geometrical Solid Body Counting" "Fruits Counting in Serious Way" "Fruits Counting without Calling Number" "Fruits Counting without Counting-Boxes" "Fruits Counting, persons are out of TV Screen." These segments were randomly arranged in 20 minutes stimuli-program with other segments. The stimuli-program were shown for 33 children and their attention were measured and analysed. Except "Fruits Counting in Serious Way," 6 segments attracted their attention. According to these results, it is possible to interpret that 2-Year-Olds likes to watch "Counting screened on a simple picture" while they watch less if "Counting" shown in serious way.
