Part I. Alternative Routes to dl-Prostaglandin-B₁ and Dihydrojasmone

Abstract

An alternative route to dl-prostaglandin-B₁ using the Grignard reaction of 2-(6'-tert-butyloxycarbonylhexyl)-3-methoxy-2-cyclopenten-1-one (XII) with 3-tetrahydropyranyloxy-1-octyne was developed.
An easy synthesis of dihydrojasmone was also described.
