Abstract

Desaturation of palmitic acid was investigated in an enzyme system prepared from rat liver. 2-trans-Hexadecenoic acid as well as 9-cis-hexadecenoic acid (palmitoleic acid) were found to be formed as monoenoic acid in this system.
