Diurnal changes of glycogen content in skeletal muscle of meal-fed rats under condition of starvation was first clearly demonstrated. The phases of diurnal change of glycogen content in skeletal muscle was the same in liver. Variations of blood glucose level and concentration of serum free fatty acids were discussed in connection with glycogen deposit in liver and skeletal muscle.
