Absolute Configuration of (-) -Massoilactone as Confirmed by a Synthesis of Its (S) -(+) -Isomer

Abstract

The absolute configuration of (-) -massoilactone (1), the major constituent of the bark oil of Cryptocarya massoia, was shown to be R by an unambiguous synthesis of its enantiomer with S-configuration.
