Synthesis and Herbicidal Activity of 2-Difluoromethylthio-1, 3, 5-triazines

Abstract

Forty-one 2-difluoromethylthio-1, 3, 5-triazines were synthesized and their herbicidal activities were evaluated under pot conditions. Some of them showed high potential as useful herbicides against weeds with little phytotoxicity toward crops. 2-Difluoromethylthio-4, 6-bis(isopropylamino)-1, 3, 5-triazine (exp. code No. SSH-108) showed a particularly high specific pre-emergence herbicidal activity. Their activities and selectivities were compared with those of prometryn.
