From the results of the above experiments we can summarise the following differences in physicochemical properties between the α-, β- and γ-hemoglobin of the same individual animals.
1. In the order of α-, β- and γ-globin, the pH value of the iso-electric point is increased and so its alkalinity is increased.
In the same order of isomers of globin the sulphur content is increased.
3. In the same order, the specific rotatory power of gglobin-HCl-solution is increased.
4. In the same order of isomers of globin the content of amide and melanine nitrogen is decreased while that of arginine, histidine and cystine nitrogen is increased.
5. In the same order, while the nitrogen content of the double salt of PtCl-globin shows no definite difference, their Pt-content is increased.
