1. A new estimation method for urinary amylase, simple and accurate, is introduced.
2. Amylase values, which a given normal person excretes in a definite time interval, is strikingly constant, in spite of variations of urine volume.
3. The personal deviation is about 100%.
4. Amylase excretion is not influenced by meals.
5. These is a diurnal rhythm of amylase excretion, decreasing at night. It is due to the diurnal rhythm of the excretory function of the kidney.
