Acid-soluble phosphorus compounds of human erythrocytes were analysed with the aid of paper chromatography and P32. After 30 minute incubation of erythrocytes with P32 at 37° at least 15 radioactive compounds were obtained, including ATP, ADP, AMP, G-6-P, F-1, 6-DP, 2, 3-diphosphoglyceric acid, and 3-phosphoglyceric acid as identified. The presence of ribose-5-phosphate was indicated. An adenine nucleotide with two stable and two labile phosphate groups was also found.
