Mathematical studies of traffic flow have made a great advantage to reproduce the basic properties of fundamental diagram, which is the relation of car-density and flow, by introducing the concept of phase transition or bifurcation of dynamical system as the collective motion of vehicles. Recently, researchers are affected to challenge to reveal the more microscopic mechanism of several non-equilibrium dynamical phenomenon in traffic flow, such as so called 'synchronized flow'. Moreover, the fields related to traffic flow become widely expanded. The perspective of research on traffic flow as well as on related subjects are discussed in several aspects.
