Abstract
A hydraulic jump was investigated, which occurs when the water fallen through an orifice in the bottom of a tank strikes a point on a horizontal plane and diffuses therefrom in all directions. This report describes the results of theoretical analyses of the relation between the flow-rate or the falling distance and the radius of the circle appearing in the hydraulic jump, concluding that the theoretical results are in pretty good agreement with the experimental ones.
