Abstract

Two theses are contained in this paper.The first study depends mainly upon the research of essay writing skills of Kisarazu National College of Technology from the point of using the junctures. The research comes from the data which are essays written by the students at KNCT as the daily allotment through the e-mail. Formants are the 1st year students there. The essays are analyzed by using checkboxes which are previously set in order to check the skills of writing. The other is about a study of the acquisition of English relative clauses and the acquisition of subjacency conditions among Japanese EFL Learners. The two aims of this study are following. The first one is whether Japanese EFL learners can reject the Subjacency violation. The second one is whether the learners acquire the meanings and syntactic structures of English relativeclauses. The learners were not able to reject the Subjacency violation. However, the participants could acquire the meaning and the syntactic structures of English relative clauses.
