Abstract

A few problems in education of engineering ethics at spreading phase were discussed. Teachers who are responsible to education of engineering ethics should be educated in engineering, but they do not need to be aducated in ethics. Since engineering ethics and ethics have quite different orientations, ethics as human science do not need to be taught at the course of engineering ethics. The goal of education of engineering ethics is not to train commentators nor analysts of engineering ethics, but to train engineers with appropriate judgment. Students sometimes act like prosecutors in case study,so teachers should awake students to the risk that it is possible for everyone to do immoralities. While cases can be classified roughly into determinate type and conflict type, most cases which engineers face are determinate type. Consequently it is effective to concentrate educational resources on determinate type.
