A structural material, especially steel-based materials performs critical roles of bridges, buildings, roads, and other city infrastructures. This inspection technology requires to be progressed. In this paper, we present that development and evaluation of a Scanning Hall-Sensor Magnetometry (SHSM) which can measure magnetic field distribution of sample surface for nondestructive inspections. Developed SHSM has ball screw actuators, a temperature sensor, a hall-sensor, and safety systems which controlled by PC and control circuits. Measured results of magnetic field distribution of tension test steel samples shows change of magnetic field distribution, which means possibility of nondestructive inspection by the SHSM.
