Abstract

As one of the means of measuring students’ English proficiency, TOEIC Bridge Test is having been introduced to some NITs in Japan. Although the test seems quite useful in terms of checking students’ current levels of English skills, there has not been much discussion on the effectiveness of the test. This paper verifies the effectiveness of English education by introducing TOEIC Bridge IP Test, and discusses the future challenges of practicing TOEIC L&R Test, which requires an upper level of English proficiency, in the regular class.
