A dematiaceous fungus, Sporoschisma juvenile (Chaetosphaeriaceae, Sordariomycetes) is documented here as a new record for Japan. The specimen was found on decaying logs collected in Kanagawa Prefecture. This paper provides a description and illustrations of the Japanese specimen of S. juvenile.
