The rotatory diffusion equation for flexible chain molecules in viscous fluid is presented, where the statistical weight in configuration space of a chain is correctly taken into account. The weight functions in configuration space are essentially different according to whether the existence of bond stretching freedoms in a chain is assumed or not, and in real chain molecules these freedoms should naturally be considered to be excited at room temperature in the form of Debye waves as in solids. It is to be noted that these circumstances concerning the statistical weight are due to nonorthogonality of coordinates system used to represent the configuration of a chain.
