A molecular theory of the volume relaxation phenomena in amorphous linear polymers is developed, regarding the phenomena as the intra-chain relaxation of the polymer chain.
The theory predicts a characteristic dispersion of dynamic bulk modulus in the similar region of time scale as in the case of the dynamic shear modulus, which is in accord with the experiment by Marvin et al.
