Under the criticism of the data of atomic radial distribution curves for the monatomic liquids, the simple structural model of liquids at melting point having only one parameter (molecular diameters) was postulated, and combining with the free-volume theory several molecular properties of van der Weals liquids and metallic liquids were equally explained, for example, the shape of radial distribution curves, molar volume, self -diffusion coefficient, viscosity coefficient, and entropy at melting point, and the heat of vaporization at boiling point, etc.
