Three species of cymothoidean isopods (Crustacea): Aega monophthalma Johnston, 1834, Rocinela oculata Harger, 1883, and Tridentella sculpturata Kussakin, 1955, were collected from bathyal zone of Kumano Sea, Pacific coast of central Japan. The two aegids were captured by fishing trawl from 300 m deep, and T. sculpturata attaching its new host fish, Ebinania vermiculata Sakamoto, 1932 was pumped up from 415 m depth with deep ocean water. This paper provides new records of the two aegid isopods, A. monophthalma and R. oculata, from Japan, and the finding of T. sculpturata represents the first record from the Pacific coast of Japan.
