From the first experiment it is conseivable that tumor develops in most of the normal rats within 4.5 months after the subcutaneous injection of 10mg of 20-methylcholanthrene. The second experiment seems to indicate that the repeated injections of the tumor of the same species inhibits the development of 20-methylcholanthrene tumor. The third and the fourth experiments, moreover, seem to indicate that the repeated injections of fresh tissues of the same species, which contains abundant mitotic cells, inhibit the development of 20-methylcholanthrene tumor. Further studies on this subject are now being made with a smaller dose of methylcholanthrene than above.
