Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify how the tourist agents in Suwa respond to the changes in environmental factors of Lake Suwa. Because of the the abnormal growth of phytoplankton, Lake Suwa has become less and less attractive as a sightseeing place. Thus pleasure cruise agents contrived the operation of chartered ships and event ships. On the other hand, Anazuri (fishing on the ice) has become difficult to do because of the disappearance of ice formation. Accordingly recreational fishing agents developed the dome ships to imitate Anazuri. In conclusion, the tourist agents in Suwa, being coped with the environmental changes, have maintained their occupations by transforming the resource value as a tourist place.
