The Role of Information Provision in Public Participation to Promote the Wide Area Waste Treatment Plan in Seoul City

Abstract

Environmental disputes between administration and residents living in waste disposal facilities which became more frequently related the wide area waste treatment plan in Seoul Korea. Waste disposal facilities have some inadequacy in the environmental information service in spite of operating a high level of the waste treatment techniques and offering the information service about it. So, this paper focused on the importance of the concrete environmental information for a good relationship between administration and residents. And we propose the role of appropriate information provision for accelerating the wide area waste treatment plan in Seoul city by evaluating the environmental and economic effects as well as to examine the inter-regional impacts of it.
