A Study on Area Classification focused on Tourism Resources and Landscape Perspective in Ibaraki Prefecture

Abstract

This study aims to contribute toward the tourism promotion, through capturing the position of tourism resources scattered in existence and landscape characteristics focused on the primary national road. Therefore, this study carry out visibility Analysis by using land use and elevation data, analysis of principal component and cluster analysis for classification of tourism resources. As the result, this study found out the view area where we can enjoy waterside, countryside and forest landscape in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, countryside, agricultural and sea view landscape in the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. This study proposed to the new regional zone in consideration of the existing tourism resources and landscape characteristics of the region.
