Distribution Pattern of CO₂Concentration in Living Environment

Focusing on Dynamics of CO₂Concentration as Basis for Regional Environmental Assessment

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the distribution pattern of CO₂ concentration in the living environment and to clarify the dynamics of CO₂ concentration as basis for regional environmental assessment. We analyzed by the measurement data from 2011 to 2015 in the three prefectures in Tokai Area. First, "CO₂ standard concentration" was defined and verified as a measure for evaluating CO₂ concentration in the living environment. Next, as a case study, multi-point measurements of CO₂ concentrations were performed regularly for one year. Then, the distribution pattern of the CO₂ standard concentration was visualized using the measured data. The results of the study were follows: 1) The CO₂ standard concentration showed the minimum in the diurnal cycle of CO₂ concentration around 2pm in the prevailing wind direction and it lasted for several hours; 2) The distribution pattern of the CO₂ standard concentration was what reflected carbon dioxide sinks etc. in the region without fluctuating.
