Abstract

The process of ex-situ conservation of Japanese brown frog and its adaptation to the environmental conditions of the conserved wetland and forest in Kohoku New Town were surveyed. Migration of the egg mass had been continued since 2011, and the different types of the distribution of adults were observed in 2016 and 2017, in accordance with the height of the grass cover, soil moisture and the thermal radiation environment against the decrease of precipitation. In the management of the introduced individuals in the green space with limited area, control and zoning of the thermal conditions would be effective, in addition to the vegetation management such as the control of suppression by grass and soil aridification.
