Abstract

Digital detox is an effort to refrain from using digital devices for a certain period of time to reduce stress. This study aims to gain the fundamental research for digital detox. The purpose of this study is 1) to grasp the attributes of students and the usages of digital devices, addiction to digital devices, and to clarify their relationships, and 2) to grasp the way to spend working day and holidays, and the intension of digital detox, and to consider the possibility of digital detox. As a result, around half of the students used digital devices for 4 or more hours a day and the part of the students had some problems of university life related to the devices. Based on the intention of students, it was thought that restriction on use in usual time and going out to a place full of nature were useful for digital detox.
