Initiative and Awareness for Participation in Natural Resource Management of Local Guides in Yambaru Forest Tourism

Abstract

Regarding collaborative management，this study aimed to clarify the local guides' initiative and awareness for participation in resource management by literature study, hearing, and questionnaire of forest tourism in Yambaru, and view the promotive measure . The relation between endemic natural environment and regional original history and cultures are consciously emphasized，and management measures including monitoring，classification of activity fields，utilization rules are well recognized. Especially monitoring practice lead local guides to have more chance to mixed up with professional researchers and related local government or organizations，and have interest for visitor's needs. It will help them to be trained for handling sustainable use and take more important role as independent actor.
