Abstract

We clarified the type of the area to which residents were evacuated in Namie town about the evacuation from the evacuation-ordered zone due to the nuclear power station accident. The rate was low in both the evacuation and residential rates within the evacuationordered zones. In addition, many residents evacuated to the municipalities where they had been living before the nuclear accident or where they had easy access to the municipality. The evacuees were concentrated in municipalities where residence restrictions had not been issued and were relatively close to the evacuation-ordered zone, a trend similar to that seen in the movement of residents in the tsunami-affected areas of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
