Abstract

In this study, we grasped transition and effects on the collaborative managing Metasequoia (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) roadside trees in Makino Area, Takashima City, Shiga prefecture and aimed to gain the knowledge about town development that make use of roadside trees. As the results, in construction phase, existence effect that consisting of windproof and landscape function appeared. In featured phase, various organizations which involved in the roadside trees appeared utilization effect like tourism. In symbol phase, the private - public - citizens organization was established across the north and south zone, and media effect like community formation, bustle creation, educational and cultural exchange appeared through collaborative management. The system that gave back revenue of bustle creation to collaborative management, further developed an existence effect and utilization effect of Metasequoia roadside trees had an influence as a vehicle for tourism partnership .
