Abstract

In this study, we focused on group feedback and verified its influence on people's energy conservation behaviors, the determinants of such behaviors, and its effectiveness in reducing electricity consumption. A total of 74 households was divided into an intervention group (36 households) and a control group, and group feedback was given once each week for 4 weeks to only the intervention group. As a result, only the intervention group subsequently showed a significant increase in the evaluation of descriptive norms, one of the determinants of energy conservation behaviors. However, there were no significant differences in subsequent energy conservation behaviors. On the other hand, weekly electricity consumption was reduced by an average of 1.59% over the six weeks from intervention to post-intervention.
