Abstract

In order to achieve regional decarbonization, the participation and cooperation of local residents as well as the local government is important. In this study, we designed a dialogue workshop for local residents that incorporates the Future Design concept, which has been used for policy proposals, and conducted a survey and analysis of the participants' attitudes toward decarbonization in Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture. The results showed that while the Future Design based workshop generated ideas for future-oriented areas from the participants, there were few references to actions that could be taken immediately in the home. According to the results of the participant questionnaire, the number of items checked in the home eco-check increased after the implementation of the program compared to before, a useful finding that will lead to a change in awareness on decarbonization.
