Abstract
To improve forestry safety management, we analyzed links between felling-manual adherence and workers’ personality/attributes. A nationwide survey of 1,034 workers measured Big Five traits and job attributes. Regression and logistic models that showed conscientiousness, agreeableness, neuroticism were significantly associated with manual referencing/compliance. Employment type and felling experience influenced behavior. Tailoring safety education/training to worker characteristics may enhance safety management.
