Abstract

To investigate the applicability of porous mortar(POM)as an environment-friendly building material, experimental investigations were conducted regarding the influences of kind and particle size of fine aggregate, void ratio, and board thickness on the water vapor absorption/desorption property of POM boards. As a result, most of POM boards with more than 20% in void ratio satisfied the evaluation criteria of water vapor absorption property, and especially POM boards with natural zeolite possessed more excellent water vapor absorption property as compared with those with crushed sand and foamed polystyrene volume reduction aggregate. However, it was also shown that the water vapor desorption property of POM boards does not satisfy the evaluation criteria, therefore it is necessary to investigate how to improve it in our future work.
