Abstract
Insecticidal activity of various agrochemicals against the parasitoid, Encarsia smithi (Silvestri) (Hymenoptera), of the camellia spiny whitefly, Aleurocanthus camelliae Kanmiya & Kasai (Homoptera) infesting the tea plant was evaluated by the dry film method at Uji and Nara. Among the agrochemicals registered for use against A. camelliae, spiromesifen was judged as harmless, buprofezin as slightly harmful, fenpyroximate as moderately harmful, and tolfenpyrad and clothianidin as harmful to E. smithi. Organophosphorus, pyrethroid, nereistoxin and neonicotinoid pesticides were judged as harmful, methoxyfenozide, Bacillus thuringiensis, flubendiamide, clofentezine, kasugamycin + cupper oxychloride and pyraclostrobin + boscalid were judged as harmless to E. smithi, respectively.
