Abstract
The writer studied the influence of Magnesium Sulfurieum upon Minimal blood pressure, maximal blood pressure, pulse curve amplitude and pulse rate, by means of the bloodless method, and obtained the following results. 1) By intravenous injection of 0.25cc of 10% solution changes worth noting were not observed. 2) By intravenous injection of 0.5cc of 10% solution minimal blood pressure fell by 10mm Hg, maximal blood pressure by 11mm Hg on the average and pulse rate decreased remarkably. By subcutaneous injection of the same quantity no changes were produced. 3) By intravenous injection of 0.5cc of 20% solution, minimal blood pressure fell by 31mm Hg, maximal blood pressure 33 mm Hg on the average and pulse rate decreased remarkably. By subcutaneous injection of the same quantity changes appeared later and were smaller in degree compared with those by intravenous injection. 4) By subcutaneous injection of 0.5cc of 40% solution no remarkable differences compared with those of 20% solution were observed. 5) By intravenous injection of 0.5cc of 10% solution of Magnesium sulfuricum and Glucose were greater and recovery appeared later in comparison with those of 10% solution of Magnesium Sulfuricum. 6) From the above mentioned results the writer can see that Magnesium Sulfuricum caused the minimal blood pressure fall and that this action is increased by adding glucose. I wish to offer my sincere thanks to Prof. T. Mashimo, M. D. for his kind guidauce, and to Subprof. M. Maegawa for his kind advice.
