2020 Volume 84 Issue 1 Pages 1-
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Circulation Journal, I would like to announce several big changes to the Journal from the year 2020. First, the paper version of the Journal will cease at the end of 2019, and the full online-only version will start in January 2020. The structure and composition of the papers will be unchanged, and readers can obtain a complete PDF version of each paper free of charge via the website. A paper version of reprints can be obtained by authors from the publisher (Kawakita Printing Co., Ltd.) on an on-demand basis. In conjunction with the move to an online-only journal, there will be periodic publication of specific articles such as guidelines, statements, etc. in a soft cover version. Second, the publication fee will increase to 200,000 Japanese yen per manuscript, as a consequence of loss of advertising revenue from the paper version of the Journal. However, a large proportion of the publication costs and distribution fees will be decreased. Third, the instructions for authors have been changed to meet the recent ICMJE criteria, bringing the Journal in line with world-wide standards. Please carefully read the new version before submitting your manuscripts.
The Circulation Journal in its new form will continue to publish high-quality, high-impact original research articles with an impact factor of 3.025, which makes it very attractive to many cardiovascular researchers. The cost of publication is still very reasonable, considering it is a full open journal without additional page charges or color charges.
We encourage your continuous contribution to the Circulation Journal, official scientific journal of the Japanese Circulation Society.
Best regards,
Toyoaki Murohara, MD, PhD
