Abstract

Discussion and Conclusion I sensitized frequently the rabbits intratesticularly by tubercle bacilli with rabbit-myocardium-phosphatide and further reinjected them intravenously. On the one hand I examined clinically, serologically and histologically and on the other hand bacteriologically for tuberculous bacillemia. The observations are as follows: 1) In these experiments, body weight, temperature, blood pressure, blood picture, roentgenogram and etc. showed clinically no remarkable changes, but ecg.lly and serologically the existence of myocardial damage was recognized. Urobilinogen and urobilin reactions in urine were temporarily positive after frequent sensitizations. Tuberculin test indicated a pretty hight tuberculin-allergy. 2) Histologically, the diffus interstitial myocarditis and cardiac muscle fiber degeneration were observed more intensely compared with the control and especially perivascular granuloma (so-called rheumatoid or tuberculoid) in myocardium in one of the cases. 3) Bacteriologically, there was no bacillemia during and after frequent intratesticular sensitizations. The conclusions are as follows: 1) These histological changes in myocardium are of allergic nature. 2) This rabbit-myocardium-phosphatide makes tubercle brcilli even by intratesticular sensitization well adhere to its myocardium.
