Abstract
The Friedlander quinoline synthesis was carried out by employing anion exchange resins as a condensation agent. As a result, anion exchangers were found to be an effective and covenient catalyst for this reaction. The method was also extended to the condensation between formylacetone dimethylacetal and o-aminobenzaldehyde, and the product was identified as 3-acetylquinoline.
