The structure of trilobamine (daphnoline) was so far considered as being represented by formula (I)(one of R and R' is H and the other CH3). As a result of the fission of O, O-dimethyltrilobamine by the sodium-liquid ammonia procedure, it has become unambiguous that trilobamine (daphnoline) has structure (V).
