Abstract
"Superior Quality Rented Housing for Elderly Person" (SQRHEP) was established in 1998. The author conducted a questionnaire survey for dwellers of SQRHEP managed by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) in Chubu Area. This study aimed to clarify the availability and usefulness of SQRHEP through analysis of dwellers' attributes and moving process. The result indicated that SQRHEP provided on the UDC estate was useful for elderly dwellers (i) who moved from rented housing on the UDC estate to live in housing for elderly person, (ii) who moved from private rented housing outside the UDC estate to improve their living condition, and (iii) who moved form privately owned housing to live near or apart from their child.
