Abstract

This research aims at clarifying the role of the area community center as an opportunity secured function of elderly people's social participation. The results of this research are as follows. : The apartment resident who is increasing in the future wishes to raise communication in the same apartment, and the challenge consciousness to culture related community business is high in the resident of a 60 years old layer. This facility is used by art culture systems, such as music and a dance, and its necessity consciousness of this facility is high. Furthermore, the apartment resident who tackles to community business has the strong necessity consciousness of this facility. It is analyzed that the human relations consciousness and social relation consciousness which elderly people have potentially, are mutually related. Therefore, since this facility can bear the mediation function of these relations, it contributes to the area social activities, such as community business.
