Abstract
The purpose of this study is suggesting a concept model of the community based activity for landscape conservation by analyzing the case of Shioya district, Kobe city.
In recent year, the concern with community activity based on its characteristic and landscape has been growing. Several studies have been made on function and role of NPOs and other citizen organizations. However, little attention has been given to clarify the process and structure of activities. What is important is to clarify the essence of process management and to show a framework of community based activity for landscape conservation.
In this study, literature searching and interviews was performed to clarify the process of activity in Shioya district. It was found from the result that the importance of various community events to involve many local residents and regular meeting which has significant role about community management.
These results lead us to the conclusion that community based activity for landscape conservation need the communication between various stakeholders and the existence of eager local residents.
